I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Tübingen, in Germany, where I attained a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biochemistry. Ever since then, I’ve been fascinated by the assembly of macromolecular machines and the methods that can be used to investigate their structure and functions.
Project Title:
Role of a Complex Cytoskeleton in the Emergence of Eukaryote-like features
My scientific interest:
Role of a Complex Cytoskeleton in the Emergence of Eukaryote-like features • My scientific interest: During my project, I will employ a multi-scale imaging workflow, combining cryo-electron tomography and subtomogram averaging with single-particle cryo-electron microscopy to investigate the cytoskeletal elements of Asgard archaea and of planctomycete bacteria
I like to do in my free time:
In my free time, I like to explore all the amenities that Switzerland has to offer: hiking in the mountains, rowing on the lakes and skiing down the glaciers. When I’m not out, I enjoy cooking, reading, playing board games and watching movies.
