I am from Singapore and studied Biological Sciences for my bachelor’s with my final year project on membrane protein purification to study the atomic structure of proteins with CryoEM as the imaging method. I have then gained some experience operating the electron microscope which made me really excited to apply these skills to find out all the interesting secrets of archaea!

Project Title:

Using CryoEM to find the atomic structure of the S-layer protein of H.gibbonsii to understand the HFTV1 infection mechanism on archaea

My scientific interest:

Learning different ways to tailor the imaging parameters on the scope to extract the most data out of my samples and trying to learn the story of their biomechanisms!

I like to do in my free time:

I like to learn about planting and pasta making in my free time, find places to hike and am highly motivated to find local delicacies in different countries!
